Tikinagan Child & Family Services seeks a Family Service Worker to provide services and support to families involved with child welfare in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. The role follows the Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model—working together to raise our children.

The position emphasizes Indigenous culture knowledge, strong communication, and willingness to travel. Preference is given to First Nations ancestry; no remote work available.

Qualifications

• Preference given to applicants of First Nations ancestry.
• Interest in working with children and youth.
• Knowledge of and lived experience with Indigenous culture.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Ability to speak Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
• Willing to attend training as required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain one.
• Travel is a requirement.
• No Remote Work Available
• No Relocation Assistance Available

Starting Salary $69,040.

The Family Service Worker oversees services and supports to families – families whose children have been taken into care and families whose children are in their care and are receiving services from Tikinagan. The work of the Family Service Worker is guided by our Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model – everyone working together to raise our children.
