Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree as stated in requirements.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to teach/model childcare and parenting skills.
  • Valid BC driver’s license.
  • Own reliable vehicle for travel.
  • Criminal record check required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and plan services (Individualized Service Plan) to identify client’s issues and choices for the protection, care, and treatment of their children.
  • Introduce clients to positive recreational and social activities and develop routines and activities that are safe, enjoyable, and stimulating.
  • Contribute to integrated case management teams and promote multidisciplinary practice within the team.
  • Promote trust and cooperation with clients, respect cultural values, maintain professional boundaries, and inform about complaint resolution procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing personal and professional development with a plan for career growth.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records per centre policies and procedures.
  • Use email, internet, and Microsoft Office for clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Recognize professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Establish relationships with community social service agencies in Williams Lake and BC.
