Come work as a Family Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a part-time Family Physician for Purdy Pavilion Long Term Care located adjacent to Koerner Acute Care Pavilion on the University of BC campus.
Purdy is owned and operated by Vancouver Coastal Health. It has 170 residents and 4 physicians, in addition to a robust multidisciplinary team.
Purdy is a teaching facility, with participation of trainees from all disciplines.
Reporting to the site's Medical Coordinator, the physician who accepts this position will play a critical role in supporting the primary care needs of residents and in the development of an inter-professional shared care team. They work within a self-directed team of physicians and other inter-professional colleagues to achieve excellence in client-centered care.
Physicians will be expected to share in 24/7 on-call duties in a shared call group with Banfield Residential Care physicians. The group comprises a total of 8 Long-term care physicians. Join our team today!
As a Family Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:
• Provide direct clinical services to residents on one ward at Purdy
• Foster a collaborative inter-professional practice environment that enhances client-centered services within the Long-term Care Program
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, & Experience:
• Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License – Full or Provisional
• Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – designation or eligibility – Mandatory
• Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory
• Experience in elderly care
Knowledge & Abilities:
• Commitment to participate in innovative health improvement and care delivery methods
• Ability to work effectively as part of an inter-professional healthcare team
