Health Match BC seeks a Family Physician to join Port Alice Health Centre on Vancouver Island, delivering primary and urgent care to a community of about 1,200 residents. Clinic services include urgent care, laboratory, social work, mental health, public health and home nursing care.

The position features a collegial, collaborative practice with shared patient panels and outreach to the remote indigenous community of Kyuquot.

Role and Facility Information

The Port Alice Health Centre has an opening for a Family Physician to join a team of dedicated health care professionals providing primary and urgent care services to a community of 1,200 residents. Port Alice Health Centre services includes urgent care, laboratory, social work, mental health, public health and home nursing care. This is a collegial, collaborative physician practice, with a shared patient panel. Port Alice physicians also provide outreach service to the remote indigenous community of Kyuquot.

Hours of Work

Monday - Thursday Clinic hours: 09:00 am - 4:30 pm Friday negotiable (Port Alice or outreach work to Kyuquot)

Benefits and Incentives

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

• Retention Premium 23.38%
• Retention Flat Fee $36,232
• Relocation Funding Available $up to a maximum of $15,000 (Depending on location moving from)
• Recruitment Incentive $up to a maximum of $20,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
• Other Benefits/Incentives CME: $1,320/annum 2 years or less, $3,520/annum year 3-4 and $5,720/annum after 4 years in the community The above amounts are current as of August 2026 and may be subject to change.
