Job summary

Northern Health in Hazelton, BC is seeking a Family Practitioner Anesthetist to provide anesthesia care at Wrinch Memorial Hospital and Medical Clinic. The FP-Anesthetist will support visiting surgeons from nearby communities and may combine anesthesia with primary care and/or emergency duties, contributing to the local surgical and urgent care services.

• Participate in teaching medical students, nurse practitioner students, midwifery students, and medical residents during rotations and outreach clinics.

Clinical Teaching

Teaching is a time-honored tradition in Hazelton. The team participates in ongoing rotations of Medical Students, Nurse Practitioner Students, Midwifery Students, and Medical Residents. Clinicians also conduct outreach clinics once a week at community health centres (Sik‑E‑Dakh, Anspayaxw, Gitsegukla, Gitwangak, Gitanyow), with learners often scheduled to accompany preceptors.
