Job summary

Island Health in Port Alberni is seeking a full-time locum family physician to cover maternity leave starting mid-January for about 5–6 months. You’ll join a central clinic with a supportive team and Med Access EMR. Long-term care opportunities exist but are not required.

Compensation includes a potential RSA uplift with a 7.98% fee premium, and 25% additional remuneration may apply, per RSA guidelines. This position is based in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island.

Qualifications

• Must hold full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
• Experience in family practice and locum work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide maternity leave coverage for a full-time locum (4 days per week).
• Deliver comprehensive family medicine care in a clinic setting.
• Collaborate with a friendly, supportive team and use Med Access EMR.
