Family Physician

0.25-0.75 FTE – Cross Lake First Nation

Hourly Range: $237.32

On-call stipend, Meal per Diem and Additional Hours
Site Description

Cross Lake: 770 kilometers north of Winnipeg

Year round road access, approximately 9 hours’ drive each way.

In-province travel and accommodations covered by organization.

Out of province travel paid with physicians holding 0.25 FTE (5-7 days monthly) or higher.

Out of province travel paid for locum providers with a commitment of 2 consecutive weeks (12 days).

Qualifications
  • Must hold licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, or eligible for licensure.
  • Current membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
Certifications
  • Must have current Advanced Life Support (ACLS
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) (within 6 months of hire)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 6 months of hire)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)(within 6 months of hire)
  • Indigenous cultural awareness course (within 6 months of hire)
  • Manitoba Opioid Antagonist Therapy (OAT) course or equivalent is encouraged
Skills/Abilities
  • Strong health assessment and clinical skills are required
  • Excellent leadership, critical thinking and collaborative interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, working as a member of a health care team alongside extended practice nurses, paramedics and other allied professionals
  • Must demonstrate an appreciation of Indigenous worldviews, cultures and be sensitive in providing anti-racist, trauma-informed care.
  • Must be able to prioritize, manage time effectively and be flexible.
  • Must possess a dependable, consistent and reliable work record, including attendance at work.
Compensation

Compensation is remunerated as per Doctors Manitoba

Northern Independent Contractor GP Agreement April 1 2023 - March 31 2027.
