Job summary

Muskoka Woods in Rosseau, Ontario, is seeking Maintenance Staff for September 6–November 29, 2026. You will maintain accommodations, meeting areas, public spaces and grounds, assisting with snow removal and general upkeep to keep facilities in top shape.

Responsibilities include lifting, moving items, yard work, and supporting the full-time maintenance crew. A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required; steel-toed shoes must be provided by you.

Muskoka Woods is a Christian youth development organization that welcomes everyone to an experience for a lifetime. We are located on the shores of beautiful Lake Rosseau and specialize in summer camp, school trips, group retreats and leadership development for all ages. We exist to inspire youth to shape their world.

Job Description

From September to June, the Schools & Retreats team turns ordinary weeks into extraordinary adventures! Whether it’s middle schoolers zip-lining for the first time, high schoolers bonding over campfires, or adults recharging on a team retreat and enjoying the food and facilities, we create life-changing experiences for everyone who visits. Each year, we welcome over 25,000 guests - students from grades 6 to 12, corporate groups, and church retreats. This team brings energy and excitement, creating memories that last a lifetime.

Maintenance Staff contribute to the maintenance and care of all accommodations, meeting areas, public spaces, and grounds at Muskoka Woods, making sure everything looks sharp. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: mowing and trimming grass, sweeping, collecting garbage, handling snow removal, moving firewood and equipment, and working alongside the full-time maintenance crew. Heads up: Maintenance Staff must bring their own steel-toed shoes for safety!

Staff are required to attend all meetings as outlined during staff training including Cadence and Small Group.

**Please note: All positions are required to work in other areas including program, washing dishes, housekeeping, grounds keeping and snow removal, and office coverage.

Skills and Attributes Required

Muskoka Woods is looking for staff whose personal values match the MW Core Values which includes having a passion for working with children and youth.

Maintenance staff must have a strong work ethic, a customer service mindset, be a team player, have a postivie attitude, be willing to work early morning shifts, and perform manual labour. A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.Maintenance staff must provide his/her own steel toed shoes.

Contract Dates

September 6 - November 29, 2026

Essential Functions
  • Have physical strength and ability to lift and move small and large objects (ie. vacuum cleaner, garbage bags, boxes, and inventory)
  • Work efficiently for 7 - 9 hours at a time
  • Handle work projects that involve lifting and carrying 10 - 30 lbs
  • Be able to stoop, bend and crouch
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and guests.
Additional Notes
  • All staff are required to uphold the Muskoka Woods Vision and Mission, Core Values and Aspirations, as well as all policies and procedures as outlined during our Staff Development Week held at the beginning of your contract.
  • All staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
  • All Staff are required to live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of their contract.
