Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada invites applications for a on-site EHS internship in Longueuil. You will work with EHS advisors, supervisors and plant staff to support inspections, incident investigations and the annual EHS plan.

The role requires fluency in French, enrollment in a Canadian university, and studies in health and safety or related fields. Office tools knowledge and a team-focused mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in Canada and enrolled at a Canadian university for the internship duration.
• Fluent in French (oral and written) to communicate with site teams.
• Willing to work on site in the hiring province for the internship period.
• Currently pursuing studies in health and safety, HR, or industrial relations.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
• Strong synthesis, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support EHS advisors, supervisors, and plant employees in daily activities.
• Perform preventive EHS inspections across departments.
• Assist in implementing activities from the annual EHS plan.
• Participate in incident investigations and documentation.
• Follow up on corrective actions and risk analyses at workstations.
• Provide advisory input on laws, policies, and procedures relating to EHS.
• Suggest changes to EHS policies, procedures and working methods.
• Identify risks in existing or new equipment/processes and propose mitigations.

What your daily work will look like:

• As a member of the EHS team, our intern will work in several spheres of activity and with various clienteles: EHS advisors, supervisors, plant employees, process specialists, in a unionized environment.
• Perform preventive EHS inspections in different departments.
• Ensure the implementation of activities planned in the annual EHS plan;
• Participate in incident investigations and produce an incident report;
• Follow up on corrective actions;
• Participate in EHS risk analyses on workstations;
• Ensure an advisory role in the application of laws and regulations, company policies and procedures relating to EHS;
• Recommend changes and/or improvements relating to EHS policies, procedures and working methods;
• Identify, evaluate and propose corrective actions for risks relating to existing equipment/processes as well as new equipment/processes aimed at eliminating risks and injuries at work at the source.

What you need to succeed:

• Be eligible to work in Canada.
• Fluency in French (oral / written).
• Be able to work on site in the province where you are hired, if applicable.
• Be enrolled in a Canadian university for the duration of your internship.
• Pursuing studies in Health and Safety, Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations.
• Knowledge of the Office suite (Power Point, Word, Excel and Teams).
• Synthesis skills.

Assets:

• Since our intern will be called upon to do awareness‑raising, the intern must demonstrate an ease in expressing themselves and popularizing information.
• Teamwork and a collaborative spirit are essential in a large company like P&WC, as well as attention to detail.
• Relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Functional English.
