Job summary

Agnico Eagle seeks a Mining Engineering intern for the Engineering department at the Meadowbank Complex. This role involves supporting various technical projects, conducting surveys, and collaborating across departments. Candidates should be currently enrolled in a Mining engineering program with a focus on teamwork, safety, and strong communication skills. Accommodations and meals are covered onsite, with a 14-day work schedule followed by 14 days of rest.

Qualifications

Job description

Reporting to the Engineering Coordinator, the intern will perform his/her duties as a member of the Engineering department and collaborate with other departments of the division. They will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Main tasks will be to support the engineering staff on several technical projects or assignments (dewatering, pumping, construction, ground control, planning, etc.);
  • Conduct underground surveying and ventilation surveying.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or technical program in Mining engineering or related field;
  • Students must be enrolled in a formal Co-op program.
  • Ontario Common Core or Québec FMTM modules are an asset;
  • Hold a valid driver’s license;
  • A strong ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as a member of a team is required.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change.
  • Demonstrate a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written as well as presentation skills required
  • Experience with Deswick software considered an asset
  • Promote a safety mindset and approach to ensure that all projects and activities carried out comply with safety regulations and AEM standards.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;

  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
