The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin as early as July 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval. Hiring salary will range from $79,132 to $94,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. (or be ABD with a set defense date) in Philosophy or a closely related field, with a specialization in Ethics. We seek applicants with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research, and potential for securing research funding. The successful candidate will also show clear evidence of success or potential with respect to both teaching and service to their profession, the university, and the department.
The successful applicant will teach courses and supervise graduate students in their areas of specialization. They will have primary responsibility for the Department’s offerings in ethics, at all levels, including a course in bioethics.

The Department of Philosophy has an energetic and ambitious group of faculty members with research and teaching strengths in various fields of philosophy. Members have established the Critical Thinking and Citizen Engagement Lab, which hosts events that bring together faculty, students, and community members.
