Job summary

The Town of Tillsonburg is seeking a Facility Operator II to maintain the Community Centre’s building, ice, pool and grounds, perform minor repairs and ensure a safe, clean facility for the public and staff.

Requirements include secondary school completion and 2 years of related facilities maintenance, with certifications in parks safety, ice technology, and pool operation as assets; Refrigeration Class B license and OHSA knowledge expected; benefits include group benefits, OMERS pension and a

Qualifications

• Completed secondary school education or equivalent.
• Two years of related work experience in recreational facilities carrying out maintenance or operator duties; municipal experience preferred.
• Certified parks equipment safety operations is required.
• Certified ice technician through ORFA or equivalent is an asset.
• Hold current Refrigeration Class B license (or ability to obtain within 24 months).
• Certified pool operator’s course/designation is required or asset.
• General maintenance skills including mechanical aptitude, basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Assists with ice plant repairs and equipment overhauls; supports refrigeration technicians.
• Performs daily building, ice and pool maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Operates fleet vehicles and facility tools; manages daily, weekly and annual maintenance tasks.
• Maintains logs and records; supports safety procedures under OHSA.
