Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) is seeking a Facility Assistant (Maintenance) to join our Grain team. This role focuses on maintaining grain and fertilizer facility equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operations, and delivering excellent customer service to internal stakeholders.

You will perform repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance, operate equipment such as loaders and forklifts, assist with fertilizer blending, and uphold Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the grain industry, including grading factors and elevator equipment.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of grain elevator equipment.
• Trained in Health & Safety procedures and a champion for safe work environment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work within environment subject to dust and allergens and lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs).
• Post-secondary education preferably in agriculture or business.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance, repairs, and project work on grain and fertilizer facility equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment
• Clean, lubricate, and complete routine preventative maintenance on machinery and facility equipment.
• Support general facility maintenance and housekeeping to ensure equipment and work areas remain safe and operational.
• Operate equipment as required, including loaders, forklifts, and locomotives.
• Assist with fertilizer blending and other operational tasks as needed to support facility projects and repairs.
• Follow safe work policies and procedures and maintain a safe, compliant working environment.
