Johnson Controls is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician (Electrician) to support operations at Humber River Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems and facility equipment to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient healthcare environment. You will work closely with hospital staff, contractors, and fellow maintenance professionals to support uninterrupted facility operations.
Respond to customer inquiries, service requests, and operational needs in a professional, timely, and respectful manner.
Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and electrical systems. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building infrastructure to maximize system uptime and reliability. Conduct routine inspections, testing, and monitoring of facility systems and equipment. Coordinate and perform high‑voltage maintenance activities, including Lockout/Tagout procedures. Complete generator testing and inspections in compliance with applicable codes and best practices. Support maintenance activities across the hospital, including after‑hours and weekend coverage when required. Record maintenance activities, work orders, and resolutions within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Monitor and report equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or improvements. Assist with facility‑related projects, equipment upgrades, and seasonal maintenance activities.
Follow all company, hospital, and regulatory safety requirements. Comply with Occupational Health & Safety, environmental, infection control, and fire protection standards. Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with established procedures and permits. Participate in emergency response activities and hospital code events as required.
Collaborate effectively with hospital staff, contractors, supervisors, and fellow technicians. Participate in departmental training and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
* This is a bargaining unit position * Pay Rate: $36.04 per hour, with an additional $5.00 per hour premium for candidates holding a valid Electrician ticket ,determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
