Job summary

U-Haul is seeking diligent Facility Housekeepers to keep storage units, hallways, restrooms and common areas clean and inviting, setting the stage for exceptional service.

You will perform routine cleaning, inventories, and trash removal, maintain supplies, and ensure a welcoming environment that reflects U-Haul's safety and customer satisfaction standards.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, wipe and mop storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators and common areas to high cleanliness standards.
• Perform facility and inventory scans 3–5 times per week to check unit statuses and report discrepancies.
• Safely dispose of trash and maintain outdoor dumpster/compactor areas.
• Maintain and track cleaning supply inventory and restock as needed.
• Maintain a welcoming, pristine environment reflecting safety and customer satisfaction standards.

Key Responsibilities

• General Cleaning & Sanitation:
  • Provide thorough sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, and mopping for storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and common areas.
  • Ensure all public and back-of-house spaces meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Facility & Inventory Scanning:
  • Conduct routine facility and inventory scans 3 to 5 times a week to check unit statuses, monitor facility conditions, and report discrepancies.
  • Help ensure storage spaces are empty, secure, and ready for new customers.
• Trash Removal:
  • Safely dispose of trash, empty all facility receptacles, and maintain clean outdoor dumpster/compactor areas.
• Supply Management:
  • Maintain and track the cleaning supply inventory, proactively requesting new supplies and restocking as needed.
• Customer Experience:
  • Maintain a welcoming, pristine environment that reflects U-Haul's high standards for safety and customer satisfaction.

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of remaining stationary, moving around outdoors, positioning oneself to reach objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50lbs assisted or unassisted.
