Job summary

Kitimat Community Development Centre is seeking a permanent full-time Janitor in Kitimat, BC to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across CDC facilities, performing routine cleaning, minor maintenance reporting, lawn care, snow removal of walkways and emergency exits, and general facility support.

Wage is $23.54–$25.45 per hour with flexible schedules, extended health benefits, RRSP matching, and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
• First Aid Level 1 (preferred).
• WHMIS certificates are an asset.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize offices, washrooms, kitchens, classrooms, and common areas.
• Empty garbage and recycling and dispose of waste properly.
• Monitor cleanliness and report maintenance concerns.
• Support seasonal cleaning tasks and deep cleaning as required.
• Ensure entrances and walkways are clean and presentable.
• Follow safety procedures for handling chemicals and equipment.
