Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited, a Canadian family-owned agriculture company, is seeking a Facility Assistant III to join the Grain team in Rathwell, MB. The role supports the facility's operation, targets production goals, and delivers high-level customer service while guiding other Assistants.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in grain elevator operations, post-secondary education in agriculture or business, team leadership experience, and strong knowledge of grading and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience operating a grain elevator.
• Post-secondary education in agriculture or business is an asset.
• Experience as a team lead/supervisor.
• Thorough knowledge of grain industry, including grading factors and elevator equipment.
• Trained in health & safety procedures and a champion for safe work environment.
• Aptitude for maintenance and repair of grain elevator equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the movement of grain by loading/unloading shipments.
• Assist the Operations Manager in mentoring Facility Assistants on grading, inventory management and safety practices.
• Demonstrate competency in grading canola, wheat, oats and barley.
• Bin and blend incoming grain.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintain the facility through regular maintenance and housekeeping.
• Blend fertilizer according to established procedures.
• Maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

The Role

We are seeking a Facility Assistant III to join our Grain team. This role is responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the facility and achievement of production targets, while demonstrating an exceptionally high level of customer service and providing leadership to other Facility Assistants. This position is responsible for monitoring safe operating procedures and maintaining the corresponding documentation.

Day to Day

• Contribute to the movement of grain by loading/unloading shipments
• Assist the Operations Manager in mentoring and educating Facility Assistants in grading, inventory management and safety practices
• Exercise competency in grading canola, wheat, oats and barley
• Bin and blend all incoming grain
• Perform exceptional customer service duties
• Maintain the facility through regular maintenance and housekeeping
• Blend fertilizer according to established procedures
• Maintain a safe and compliant working environment

What You’ll Bring

• 3+years’ experience in the operation ofa grain elevator
• Post-secondary education preferably in agriculture or business is an asset
• Experience as a team lead/supervisor
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the grain industry, including grading factors and elevator equipment
• Trained in health & safety procedures and a champion for safe work environment

• Ability to work within environment subject to dust and allergens and lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs)Ability to work a flexible work schedule
