Job summary

Sysco Calgary is seeking a Facilities Technician II to perform complex maintenance on building systems, repair structures, diagnose faults, and maintain equipment history. The role requires attention to safety and the ability to work with limited supervision.

You will support installations and upgrades, mentor Technician I staff, and ensure timely responses to maintenance requests, while contributing to a well-maintained, safe facility for operations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving to diagnose complex malfunctions and implement repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to train and guide team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform more complex maintenance and repair tasks on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, with minimal supervision.
  • Repair building structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, doors, and windows using a variety of materials and techniques.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment and system malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Maintain and repair grounds, including landscaping, irrigation systems, snow removal, and parking lot maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain a wider range of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment history.
  • Follow safety procedures and protocols meticulously to ensure a safe working environment and comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and renovations, working independently or as part of a team.
  • Provide guidance and training to Facilities Technician I staff on maintenance procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
