Job summary

Tilray Brands, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Technician to support LED lighting retrofits, minor construction, and site maintenance at our Nanaimo facility.

You will assist with projects, perform general labour, and collaborate with contractors to keep operations running smoothly and safely. This full-time, limited-term role reports to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager and requires physical labour, a proactive safety mindset, and the ability to work in varying conditions within a cannabis

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Proficient in the safe use of hand and basic power tools.
• Work both independently and as part of a team with a strong safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist LED lighting retrofit and installation projects across the facility.
• Support special projects including renovations, equipment moves, and workspace upgrades.
• Perform general labour tasks such as lifting, carrying, assembling, and transporting materials.
• Carry out minor construction and maintenance like painting, carpentry, and repairs.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively and maintain clean work areas.

Vacancy: This is for an existing vacancy. Work Type: Full Time, Limited term Wage: CAD $21.00 per hour Reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Technician will support a variety of facility improvement projects and maintenance activities across the site. This temporary position is intended to assist with special projects including LED lighting installation, minor construction activities, facility upgrades, equipment moves, preventative maintenance activities, and general labour support.

• Assist with LED lighting retrofit and installation projects throughout the facility.
• Support special projects including facility renovations, repairs, equipment relocations, and workspace improvements.
• Perform general labour duties including lifting, carrying, assembling, disassembling, and transporting materials and equipment.
• Complete minor construction and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, carpentry, demolition, and general repairs.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Assist Facilities personnel with preventative maintenance tasks and work order completion.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and materials.
• Support contractors and vendors performing work on site as directed.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Report hazards, incidents, equipment deficiencies, and unsafe conditions immediately.
• Participate in required training and meetings.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

• Previous construction, maintenance, labour, or trades-related experience preferred.
• Experience working in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments considered an asset.
• Experience with lighting installations, renovations, or facility upgrades is an asset.
• Proficient in the safe use of hand tools and basic power tools.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical labour for extended periods.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
• Ability to safely perform repetitive tasks and manual work.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic.
