Job description

Responsible for the preventative and maintenance activities at the Burlington and Waterloo sites, including troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining facility operations. Provide on-call support during off-hours and collaborate with engineering or project management teams for installation or repair of building support systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform scheduled hands-on maintenance on processes and systems such as HVAC, chillers, air handling systems, and boilers.
2. Address facility issues like lighting, office moves, and plumbing concerns promptly.
3. Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure continuous site uptime.
4. Participate in the Health and Safety Committee for the site.
5. Provide on-call support every other weekend, responding to pages and trouble calls day or night.

Qualifications:

• College diploma or apprenticeship in HVAC or Building Maintenance.
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Customer-oriented with good rapport-building abilities.
• Attention to detail, organizational, and planning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and in teams.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Availability for on-call support every other week/weekend, responding to calls at any hour.
