The City of Thunder Bay seeks a Planning & Research Analyst to support Facilities Services with compliance monitoring, operational analysis, procurement support, asset documentation, environmental reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

You will work with supervisors and facility staff to improve processes, maintain critical records, support procurement activities, and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years’ facility-related practical experience
• Knowledge and understanding of Facility Management
• Superior analytical, research, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to establish effective working relations with private and public officials, co-workers, and the general public

Responsabilités

• Analyze present work methods, procedures and systems for maintenance operations; recommend improvements and follow up.
• Prepare procurement documents for projects; maintain records of maintenance work, service problems, warranties and complaints.
• Generate and maintain hazardous waste identification numbers (HWIN) accounts for the Division.
• Collect, update and coordinate inventories of Section Designated Substance Surveys and Asbestos Audits.
• Perform environmental inspections for compliance with legislation in relation to Designated Substance Survey.
• Maintain facility licenses (Elevators, Boilers, Pressure Vessels, Life Safety Systems).
• Participate in hiring, training and evaluation of Section staff.
• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive material within the Section.
• Assist in studies and reports related to Divisional operations.
• Participate in energy conservation program development and recommendations.
• Prepare plans, schedules, verify compliance, create presentation materials for Divisional use, and maintain files
