Job summary

The Town of East Gwillimbury is seeking a Facility Operator I to maintain recreation and community facilities, perform cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs, and supervise part-time staff. On-call coverage is required evenings, weekends, and holidays under a rotating facility schedule.

Candidates should hold an Ontario Recreation Facilities Association CBT certification and a related housekeeping course, plus 5 years’ experience in municipal or community centre operations with gym, banquet

Qualifications

• CBT certification with related housekeeping knowledge.
• 5 years of building caretaker/operator experience in municipal or community centres.
• Experience overseeing part-time, seasonal and casual staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sweep, mop and wax washrooms and public spaces.
• Maintain inventory, perform deep cleaning and basic repairs.
• Direct and supervise part-time and seasonal staff; on-call coverage evenings, weekends, and holidays.
