Job summary

OpenText, The Information Company, seeks a Building Maintenance Technician based at our Accelerator Building Waterloo location. You will be the frontline maintenance resource for preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance across the site, supporting the broader maintenance team.

The role emphasizes HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems knowledge, with hands-on repair capability and a commitment to a safe, well-maintained workplace.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in building maintenance, facility operations, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently.
• Travel between OpenText facilities and transport materials as required.
• Valid G driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs across building systems to keep facilities safe and functional.
• Conduct routine site inspections, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Handle carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, doors, locks, ceilings, and minor plumbing/electrical tasks.
• Support HVAC, mechanical, and BAS through monitoring, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to service requests and tasks with high-quality customer service.
