Job summary

Extendicare is hiring a full-time maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and essential building services across our Canadian long-term care homes. You will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general carpentry, ensuring safety and documenting inspections as required.

Qualifications

Experience in building maintenance and repairs.
Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems.
Ability to read manuals and diagnose issues.
Preferred maintenance courses.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on building systems.
Diagnose issues and determine corrective actions.
Repair plumbing fixtures, valves, and related components.
Perform electrical work such as lighting replacements.
Repair doors, locks, cabinets, drywall, and other components.
Paint, caulk, seal, and finish surfaces.
Inspect mechanical rooms and document findings.
Use hand and power tools safely during maintenance.
Complete and record scheduled maintenance work orders.
Assist with housekeeping and supply management as needed.
Work extra hours to support operations.
