Job Description : Facilities & Maintenance Technician at Brunel

This role involves executing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex equipment, and supporting contractor oversight in a GMP-compliant manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical problem-solving skills, a focus on continuous improvement, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure equipment readiness for production.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance tickets, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs.
  • Maintain complex systems such as hot cells, isolators, BSCs, and other equipment.
  • Support investigations into nonconformance and implement CAPAs.
  • Provide after-hours maintenance support as needed.
  • Manage work permits, perform lockouts, and oversee external contractors.
  • Manage spare parts inventory to ensure equipment uptime.
  • Prepare work orders, protocols, and vendor reports in compliance with GMP standards.
  • Follow SOPs and documentation protocols to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze maintenance records for performance improvements.
  • Lead or support change controls and maintenance program improvements.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards, using proper PPE.
  • Participate in technical and safety training programs.

Requirements

  • College diploma or technical degree (e.g., mechanical, electrical) or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of maintenance experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing.
  • Strong prioritization, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call.
  • Experience in facility or site start-up environments is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or demanding spaces.
  • Good communication skills, including technical reporting and understanding system trends.
  • Flexibility to adapt to fluctuating work hours.
  • Willingness to be trained as a Nuclear Energy Worker (if applicable).
