Job Description : Facilities & Maintenance Technician at Brunel
This role involves executing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex equipment, and supporting contractor oversight in a GMP-compliant manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical problem-solving skills, a focus on continuous improvement, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and ensure equipment readiness for production.
- Respond promptly to maintenance tickets, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs.
- Maintain complex systems such as hot cells, isolators, BSCs, and other equipment.
- Support investigations into nonconformance and implement CAPAs.
- Provide after-hours maintenance support as needed.
- Manage work permits, perform lockouts, and oversee external contractors.
- Manage spare parts inventory to ensure equipment uptime.
- Prepare work orders, protocols, and vendor reports in compliance with GMP standards.
- Follow SOPs and documentation protocols to meet regulatory requirements.
- Analyze maintenance records for performance improvements.
- Lead or support change controls and maintenance program improvements.
- Identify and mitigate safety hazards, using proper PPE.
- Participate in technical and safety training programs.
Requirements
- College diploma or technical degree (e.g., mechanical, electrical) or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of maintenance experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing.
- Strong prioritization, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call.
- Experience in facility or site start-up environments is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or demanding spaces.
- Good communication skills, including technical reporting and understanding system trends.
- Flexibility to adapt to fluctuating work hours.
- Willingness to be trained as a Nuclear Energy Worker (if applicable).
