Job summary

Niagara Parks Commission in Niagara Falls, ON, is seeking a Coordinator, Maintenance and Projects to supervise engineering staff and contractors, coordinate day-to-day facility maintenance, and manage capital projects. You will assist in budget planning and tender preparation while ensuring NPC standards and safety compliance.

The role requires 5 years in management with 2 years in supervision, a relevant trade background, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-style qualifications are not required; a Community College Diploma or equivalent experience is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years in a management role with at least 2 years in a similar supervision or project coordination position.
• Experience with building, plumbing, electrical and gas codes and knowledge of related trades is important.
• Valid Class G driver's license and ability to operate common computer tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities; ability to lead teams and contractors.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with applicable health, safety, and accessibility regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise engineering staff and contractors for daily facility maintenance and project work.
• Prepare capital equipment lists for approvals by Senior Manager/Director.
• Assist with capital budget and equipment specifications for tenders and RFQs.
• Manage labor costs, overtime, and material costs with accurate record keeping.
• Plan and schedule resources to support maintenance and infrastructure repair activities.
• Ensure work is performed to NPC standards, safety regulations, and labor requirements.
• Review contractor invoices, negotiate changes, and monitor project progress.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on safe work practices and procedures.
