Job summary

Teva Canada in Ontario is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations, oversee staff and contractors, and drive safety, compliance and continuous improvement across the site.

You will manage preventive and corrective programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, chillers, BAS, and critical systems; use CMMS to plan work; ensure GMP/regulatory readiness; participate in audits and manage budgets with a focus on reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years facilities/building maintenance experience in GMP-regulated environments.
  • 3+ years leading employees, contractors, or maintenance teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, chillers, BAS.
  • Experience with CMMS, preventive maintenance, budgeting, asset management, capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of GMP requirements and Ontario safety regulations.
  • Trade certification or CFM/BES is an asset.

Facilities Maintenance Manager

Stouffville, Ontario

The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all facility maintenance operations to ensure a safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient work environment. This role oversees maintenance personnel, contractors, building systems, utilities, and infrastructure projects while driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

How You’ll Spend Your Day
  • Provide leadership, direction, and development to the facilities maintenance team, including work allocation, coaching, performance management, training, and workforce planning.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, chillers, compressed air systems, fire protection, emergency power generation, building automation systems (BAS), roofing, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and prioritize work, manage work orders, maintain asset information, and monitor key performance indicators such as preventive maintenance completion, equipment reliability, downtime, backlog, and maintenance costs.
  • Troubleshoot complex facility and utility system issues, coordinating timely repairs, shutdowns, and emergency response activities to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Manage third-party contractors and service providers, including scope development, vendor selection, scheduling, safety compliance, work quality, and invoice approval.
  • Lead facility repair projects, renovations, lifecycle asset replacement programs, and capital infrastructure upgrades from planning through execution.
  • Develop and manage maintenance operating and capital budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and ensure effective inventory management of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Ensure maintenance activities and documentation comply with GMP requirements, occupational health and safety regulations, environmental standards, fire codes, and building codes.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance procedures, records, permits, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and site inspection readiness activities.
  • Monitor building utilities and critical systems to ensure uninterrupted operations and business continuity.
  • Participate in the site’s 24/7 on‑call rotation and provide emergency support as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, safety, sustainability, and asset performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive facilities or building maintenance experience, including at least 3 years leading employees, contractors, or maintenance teams within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or other GMP‑regulated environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, boilers, chillers, compressed air systems, fire protection systems, emergency generators, and building automation systems.
  • Proven experience with CMMS platforms, preventive maintenance programs, contractor management, budgeting, asset management, and capital project execution.
  • Strong understanding of GMP requirements and applicable Ontario occupational health and safety, environmental, fire, and building regulations.
  • Experience supporting audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance readiness activities.
  • Skilled trade certification, Building Environmental Systems (BES), Facilities Management certification, Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or equivalent designation is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a collaborative and customer‑focused approach.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The typical hiring range for this position is $110,480-$138,100. The base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, this role may qualify for an annual bonus based on employment type. Certain positions may also be eligible for a sales commission structure as part of the overall compensation package.
