Job summary

Coast Mountain College (CMNT), Prince Rupert Campus, invites applications for a regular part-time Maintenance Helper commencing as soon as possible. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff Scale, Level 06: $1,055.25 bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefit plan, paid vacation and sick time.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a construction/trades environment.
• Familiar with operation of building and maintenance equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and furniture systems.
• Assist trades staff with repairs and installations as needed.
• Inspect safety equipment and maintain a log of safety devices.
• Operate a truck to move furniture and equipment around campus.
• Respond to emergencies such as floods or power outages.
