Job Description

Position Title: Facilities Maintenance

Supervisor: Facilities Manager

Employee Status: Year-round, full-time / salary

Location: In-person, Shelburne, VT

Time Commitment: Typical 5 and a half days, including on-call, weekends, and holidays

Salary Range: $30,000 - $35,000 (includes on-site housing at no extra cost)

Who We’re Looking for

An individual excited to support and maintain a large, complex campus, working with the Facilities Manager and Buildings & Landscape team to improve, repair, and maintain facilities and equipment.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with 24/7 maintenance and emergency support for farm facilities and operations, including:
    • Building repairs and safety systems
    • Plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems
    • Water and wastewater systems
    • Event setup, parking, janitorial, waste management
    • Operations improvements for climate action
    • Snow removal and safety support
    • Meter readings
Core Qualifications
  • Relevant education or experience in trades such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC
  • Ability to work independently
  • Valid driver’s license meeting specific criteria
  • Proficiency with computers and internet, including Google Drive and Gmail
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays
Additional Valued Qualifications
  • Certifications (Journeyman Plumber, Electrical, HVAC licenses) are helpful but not required
  • Alignment with our mission and values

  • Strong communication skills and openness to feedback
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Move over uneven terrain, ladders up to 8 feet, carry items up to 75 lbs
  • Work around large animals, operate tools safely
