Join Kardium and help improve lives worldwide. We have developed a groundbreaking medical device for diagnosing and treating atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder that can lead to stroke and heart failure.

Our mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. We have created The Globe Pulsed Field System, with a talented technical team that has developed a product with unique, customer-valued differentiators. We have established connections with key opinion leaders who are already using our system and helping tell our story.

Having completed our pivotal clinical study, we are now focusing on regulatory approvals and launching our product. This marks a significant milestone in bringing this innovative technology to patients.

The Facility Engineer role

The Facility Engineer oversees plant and facilities operations, supporting renovations, upgrades, retrofits, and repairs.

This position is a hybrid role based in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Managing infrastructure projects such as installation, maintenance, and repair of systems like humidification, compressors, and generators.
  2. Establishing and optimizing preventative and predictive maintenance for facility systems.
  3. Implementing improvements in building and process layout, energy, and operational savings.
  4. Planning for facility and utility enhancements aligned with lifespan and future needs.
  5. Developing P&IDs for systems including chilled water, HVAC, and compressed air.
  6. Executing projects individually or as part of a team, managing multiple concurrent tasks.
  7. Managing facility documentation such as SOPs, forms, work instructions, and certification reports.
  8. Coordinating contractor management.
What you bring to the team

Our team is innovative, passionate, and collaborative. To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • BSc in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related engineering field with 3+ years of experience.
  • Project management experience across multiple projects.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and coordinate trades and contractors.
  • Strong planning, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental, fire, safety, building, plumbing, and electrical codes.
  • Experience with EPA and DEM regulations.
  • Preventative maintenance experience.
  • Experience with building management systems controls.
  • Ability to respond effectively to critical situations.
Compensation and benefits

Salary range: $84,000 – $100,000 CAD annually, plus a 5% RRSP contribution. Employees are eligible for stock options, comprehensive medical and dental coverage from day one, work flexibility, and other benefits including family support, career development, and diversity initiatives.
