JMC HR Consulting is proud to continue supporting LuminUltra in their search for a Facilities & EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Manager.

LuminUltra is a Fredericton-based global biotechnology company specializing in rapid microbial monitoring solutions, supporting industries around the world with innovative and science-driven technology.

About the Role

The Global Facilities & EHS Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across all facilities and environment, health & safety functions.

This role is responsible for developing and implementing best-in-class policies, programs, and systems that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations across all locations. Working cross-functionally, the successful candidate will partner with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory bodies to optimize performance, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement.

Where You’ll Work

This position is based onsite in Fredericton, NB and requires approximately 15-25% travel.

Compensation:

80-90K

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Facilities and EHS functions across all locations, driving a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, training, and communication to ensure alignment and compliance
  • Act as a key liaison across employees, leadership, vendors, and regulatory agencies
  • Oversee facilities operations including maintenance, reliability, security, fire systems, and capital projects, while supporting long-term planning and site strategy
  • Manage budgets, procurement, vendor relationships, and service levels to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
  • Lead EHS programs including inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, environmental initiatives, and JHSC activities
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, lead training and drills, and ensure organizational readiness
  • Drive continuous improvement through regular review of systems, processes, and performance
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Facilities Management, or a related field (required)
  • 5–7 years of progressive operational leadership experience in Facilities and/or EHS
  • Strong experience working with regulatory agencies and applicable legislation (e.g., Provincial OH&S, OSHA, EPA)
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a multi-site environment
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Certifications/Specialist Training (considered strong assets):
  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional)
  • CHSC (Canadian Registered Safety Technician)
  • CFM (Certified Facility Manager)
  • GHS / WHMIS
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification
