Job summary

City of Moncton is seeking a Facilities Director to lead operations services, oversee all facility management, energy efficiency projects and related building initiatives. The role reports to the General Manager – Operations Services and requires strong strategic leadership and communication.

The candidate will manage staff and budgets, coordinate multi-site projects, and ensure facilities meet code and LEED/Green Globes standards, with English essential and bilingualism an asset.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering or related field linked to facility management, building construction, architecture.
• P. Eng. designation would be an asset.
• LEED accreditation is considered an asset.
• Minimum five years in a senior management role with staff and resources responsibility.
• Experience with energy management planning, energy auditing or green building design is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret construction specs, blueprints and technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a diverse team responsible for project management, operations and maintenance of facilities.
• Coordinate staff, budgeting and project delivery to meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and safety standards as per NB/OHS acts.
• Oversee energy management initiatives and green building standards (LEED/Green Globes).
• Develop relationships with vendors, contractors and internal stakeholders.
