Job summary

The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre is seeking a Facilities & Building Operations Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations across FVCDC’s sites. The role requires hands-on maintenance, coordinating contractors, and leading safety activities with independent judgment.

Based in Abbotsford, BC, the position is 0.8 FTE (30 hours/week), fully on-site, with travel to Chilliwack and Mission locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate/diploma in Facilities Management, Building or Facility Operations, Construction, Occupational Health & Safety, Business/Operations, or related field.
• Two years of relevant experience in commercial or institutional building operations or facilities coordination.
• Experience supporting multiple locations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage facilities requests through the helpdesk system; set priorities and arrange work.
• Conduct regular building/site checks and coordinate follow-up.
• Complete minor repairs and setup (furniture, shelves, painting, non-structural renovations).
• Coordinate repairs with landlords, property managers, contractors, and service providers (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
• Plan and coordinate facilities projects from scope to completion, timelines and costs.
• Obtain quotes, follow procurement requirements, track budgets and invoices.
• Monitor projects and identify cost-saving opportunities; ensure safety records.
• Coordinate OH&S orientations, drills, and emergency preparedness.
