Job summary

CBRE Building Operator (Union) in Canada is responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings and building systems. You will perform rounds, logs, preventative maintenance, and repairs to keep equipment running efficiently.

This role is part of Engineering and Technical Services, focusing on preventive maintenance, system troubleshooting, and responding to tenant requests. Weekend/on-call shifts are included as needed, with opportunities to work with external contractors.

Qualifications

• OSSGD or equivalent.
• BES I Certificate; or 4th class Operating Engineer; or provincial trades certification is an asset.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in operation and maintenance of facilities.
• Proven computer skills (MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Working knowledge of CMMS and BAS.
• Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and be on-call.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily rounds and log readings.
• Reviews and completes daily entries into engineer's log; investigates issues.
• Conducts preventative maintenance and inputs histories into CMMS.
• Starts building infrastructure equipment up/down.
• Maintains and inspects HVAC, pumps, life safety systems, etc.
• Performs basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, minor fixes).
• Assists other classifications as required.
