Job summary

Alstar Group, based in Calgary, seeks a Job Instructions Facilitator for the Calgary shop to support and maintain the TWI system. The role requires coaching trainers, collaborating with SMEs, and ensuring accurate, consistent work instructions and training materials across operations.

Two-year term with potential for permanent transition. The candidate should be proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in training, documentation or process improvement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
• Experience developing or maintaining process documentation, work instructions, or training materials.

Responsibilities

• Ensure departmental trainers and supervisors are aligned with approved Work Instructions.
• Mentor trainers and supervisors in Training Within Industry (TWI) procedures.
• Observe training activities on the shop floor and provide real-time coaching.
• Develop and refine Work Instructions (WIs) and Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs).
• Review and improve documentation created by others to ensure technical accuracy to TWI templates.
• Manage the end-to-end documentation process.
• Prioritize the development of training materials as the core driver of effective instruction and shop performance.
• Ensure WIs are fully integrated into daily operations and accessible.

Who You Are:

We are currently seeking a Job Instructions Facilitator, Calgary Shop.

You will be the JI Facilitator to support and maintain the TWI system across the Calgary shop operations. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach. Comfortable coaching and supporting trainers, providing constructive feedback, and working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure training materials and work instructions are clear, accurate, and consistently applied. Document and understand the importance of maintaining organized, reliable processes to support operational consistency.

This position is offered as a two-year term, with the potential for transition to a permanent role.
