Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a production/fabrication focused worker to review work orders, set heaters, and follow the schedule. You will identify materials by size/color, apply proper packaging, and visually inspect parts for damage, reporting any deficiencies to the lead hand.

You will also record pieces completed, report system or equipment issues, and perform duties as directed by Senior Management.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication preferred.
• Must read/write/understand and communicate in English.
• Able to perform basic math functions (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds (23 kg).

Responsibilities

• Review and understand all work orders.
• Set up heaters in Bending as required by the process.
• Follow the Production Schedule unless backordered.
• Identify and locate material by size and color.
• Apply correct packaging for finished parts.
• Visually inspect parts for damage and report deficiencies.
• Report deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment, or tools.
• Record number of pieces on completed work orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

• Apply correct packaging for finished parts
• Visual check of parts for damage, report deficiencies to lead hand.
• Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools.
• Record number of pieces on completed work order
• Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Prior experience in Fabrication an asset
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilograms.
