Job summary

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics in Etobicoke, ON is hiring a Fabrication Technician on a 2-month contract with potential extension. You will set up and operate fabrication machinery, fabricate moulds using RPET/BHIPS, perform maintenance, and assist with 3D printing operations.

Strong attention to detail and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required. The role reports to the Room Manager and offers a competitive hourly rate, employee perks, and a dynamic team-focused environment with opportunities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year in current role.
  • Basic technical skills for equipment setup and operation.
  • Strong attention to detail to detect defects.
  • Basic computer literacy for control systems and reporting.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up vacuum formers, click-press and related fabrication machines.
  • Operate vacuum forming and trim moulds to spec with accuracy.
  • Assemble, package and prepare moulds for dispatch or storage.
  • Dispatch pallets and ship via carrier terminals when needed.
  • Perform routine cleaning, maintenance and documentation of data.

The Role: Fabrication Technician

Reporting to the Room Manager, the Fabrication Technician is responsible for setting up, calibrating, cleaning, operating, and performing preventative maintenance service to various pieces of fabrication machinery. Bringing your knowledge and experience in machine operation, you will be trained on the equipment and tools. What You Do (Responsibilities)
Operations
  • Set up vacuum formers, click-press, and related fabrication machines & equipment
  • Operate vacuum forming machine(s) to fabricate high-quality moulds with RPET, BHIPS, and other industry-standard materials
  • Operate click press machine(s) and other cutting tools, including but not limited to paper cutters and scissors, to trim fabricated moulds to the desired specifications
  • Assemble, prepare, organize, and package finished moulds and other fabricated products for dispatching and/ or storing purposes
  • Dispatch pallets of mould orders utilizing pallet trucks, forklifts, and similar equipment
  • Ship via carrier terminals when required
  • Cut plywood and other forms of wood to produce the materials necessary for tooling fabrication
  • Mix and pour hardening and curing agents such as, but not limited to, concrete and epoxy resin to form mould casts
  • Utilize power tools to shape and refine mould casts
  • Perform and document routine cleaning, maintenance, and repairs on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime
  • Report equipment malfunctions or issues to leadership and collaborate on resolution
  • Document production data, complete checklists, and submit reports to the RMT when needed
  • Support 3D printing operations by queuing, dismounting, removing structures, cleaning, and swapping materials/ equipment on the 3D printers
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements
  • Collaborate with the Moulds leadership, team members, and support groups to align production goals with overall departmental objectives and to resolve production challenges
  • Contribute to a positive team environment focused on learning, safety, quality, and shared success
  • Supports new or returning staff as required with onboarding, demonstrations of daily duties and responsibilities, while ensuring safety and SOP guidelines are being followed
Safety
  • Follow health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE and proper handling of materials and tools
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace
  • Document and report unsafe conditions or incidents to the appropriate personnel
Quality
  • Follow company standards and guidelines procedures during all phases of production
  • Conduct quality checks at various stages of production to ensure compliance with product specificationsDocument and report quality concerns to the appropriate personnel
Who You Are (Qualifications)
Required:
  • Has held current role for a minimum of 1 year
  • Basic technical skills related to equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect errors or defects
  • Basic computer literacy for equipment controls and production reporting
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a fast -paced, high-production environment
  • Able to work with moderate noise levels and manufacturing equipment
Preferred:
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment
  • Familiar with 3D printing, vacuum forming, or other mould fabrication technologies
  • Familiar with Lock Out / Tag out practices
  • Technical aptitude/familiarity with machine processes
  • Relevant work experience such as in a trade or as a machine operator
  • Previous experience as a Machine Operator
  • Computer proficiency, and familiarity with PLC controls

Wage/Salary Range

25.25 - 26 CAD
