Responsibilities

  • Ensure paint racking components are properly fitted, aligned and fastened.
  • Perform painting in the fab shop and verify racks as required.
  • Report any product malfunctions to prevent quality issues.
  • Assist quality in cutting portions of parts for testing.
  • Work in various weather conditions and environments, indoors and outdoors.
  • Operate and maintain related equipment and tools safely.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned, including IATF 16949: 2016 compliance.

Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Fabrication Labour at our Stoney Creek facility.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Fab Shop Supervisor, the Fabrication Labourer is responsible for hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products ensuring consistent quality, production and safety standards. They will be responsible for general labourer tasks with painting, minor repairs, operating as a driver for the rack cleaner and other tasks as assigned. At all times, ensuring the ongoing adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems and encouraging continuous improvement wherever possible.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that all components of paint racking are properly fitted, aligned and fastened
  • Perform painting in the fab shop and rack verification as required
  • Reporting any product malfunctions
  • Assist the quality department with cutting portions of parts for testing
  • Perform duties in inclement weather, with possible exposure to severe weather conditions
  • Proficiency in the safe operation and maintenance of various related equipment and tools
  • Ability to maintain concentration and mental alertness in a variety of situations
  • Field work at other facilities as needed
  • Safely able to work at a high level of physical activity including climbing ladders, working at heights / in restricted space, lifting items in excess of 50lbs and in a loud / noisy environment
  • Perform snow removal and apply salt to maintain safe walkways and facility access during winter conditions.
  • Transport TDG-regulated materials, including wastewater and used oil, in compliance with safety requirements.
  • Prepare and ship paint racks for external cleaning and return processing.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness by collecting and disposing of garbage and debris inside and outside the plant.
  • Promote continuous improvement in all areas.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • IATF 16949: 2016 duties as required
Education and Certifications
  • Forklift License
  • Grade 12 or GED
