Greeting guests cordially and courteously, escorting them to their table displaying a genuine welcome and interest in their dining experience is critical in this role. Providing efficient and attentive service, ensuring guest satisfaction on beautiful Lake Muskoka is a great way to spend your summer!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interact professionally with all resort guests and co-workers.
• Maintain high standards of appearance and personal hygiene as set out by the Resort’s Handbook and Code of Conduct.
• Maintain service standards as set out by departmental Training Manual.
• Complete all work as directed by members of the Food & Beverage management team, and other duties as assigned.
• Work calmly and efficiently while promoting positive relations with related departments.
• Work in a safe manner and in a safe environment as set out by company policy and Workplace Health & Safety statutory requirements.
• Positively promote departmental and resort special events and activities.
• Carry out any and all duties within the general scope and purpose of the job as designated by the Director of Food & Beverage and Resort policy. Follow all departmental and resort policies as they relate to you.
• Ask for assistance should you find yourself unable to meet the department’s standards of service due to business volumes.
• Report and rectify any guest concerns or complaints. Ensure that all reasonable guest requests are completed or followed through for completion.
• Empower oneself with colleagues to ensure questionable or insufficient product that does not meet departmental standards is corrected before service.
• Ensure that your stations are kept clean and clear at all times.
• Ensure that all side duties and proper levels of mis en place are completed for the next shift.
• Report any questionable misconduct or behaviour to your supervisor immediately.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience in casual fine dining is an asset.
• High school level English communication skills.
• Food handling certification is an asset but not required.
• First Aid/CPR certification is an asset but not required.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS
• Indoors and outdoors in spring/summer and fall weather conditions on covered patio, dining room, and conference rooms.
• Moving furniture when preparing special arrangements.
• Walking, bending, carrying glassware, plates, glass racks, large platters, and chaffing dishes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 LBS.
• Long periods of standing on your feet.
• Must be willing to work multiple shifts including morning, afternoon, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
