Come work & play on beautiful Lake Muskoka this summer! Taboo Muskoka is a privately owned Resort and Golf Operation in Gravenhurst, Ontario. Our mandate is to ‘Create happiness by offering incredible Muskoka experiences to our guests and team.’

Greeting guests cordially and courteously, escorting them to their table displaying a genuine welcome and interest in their dining experience is critical in this role. Providing efficient and attentive service, ensuring guest satisfaction on beautiful Lake Muskoka is a great way to spend your summer!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To interact professionally with all resort guests and co-workers.
2. Maintain high standards of appearance and personal hygiene as set out by the Resort’s Handbook and Code of Conduct.
3. To maintain service standards as set out by departmental Training Manual.
4. To complete all work as directed by members of the Food & Beverage management team, and other duties as assigned.
5. To work calmly and efficiently while promoting positive relations with related departments.
6. To work in both a safe manner and in a safe environment, as set out by company policy and Workplace Health & Safety statutory requirements.
7. To positively promote departmental and resort special events and activities.
8. To carry out any and all duties within the general scope and purpose of the job so designated by the Director of Food & Beverage and Resort policy.
9. To follow all departmental and resort policies as they relate to you.
10. To ask for assistance should you find yourself unable to meet the department’s standards of service due to business volumes.
11. Report and rectify any guest concerns or complaints. Ensure that all reasonable guest requests are completed, or followed through for completion.
12. Must be able to empower oneself with colleagues to ensure questionable or insufficient product that does not meet departmental standards is corrected before service.
13. Ensure that your stations are kept clean and clear at all times.
14. Ensure that all side duties and proper levels of mis en place are completed for the next shift.
15. Report any questionable misconduct or behaviour to your supervisor immediately.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Previous experience in casual fine dining an asset.
2. High school level English communication skills.
3. Food handling certification an asset but not required.
4. First Aid/CPR certification an asset but not required.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS

1. Indoors and outdoors in the spring/summer and fall weather conditions on covered patio, dining room and conference rooms.
2. Moving furniture when preparing special arrangements.
3. Walking, bending, carrying glassware, plates, glass racks, large platters, and chaffing dishes.
4. Ability to lift up to 50 LBS.
5. Long periods of standing on your feet.
6. Must be willing to work multiple shifts including, morning, afternoon, evenings, weekends and holidays.
