Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Support Services, the F&B Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day hands-on operation of the entire food and beverage operation, including quality control, staffing, event preparation, kitchen operations, and dining room operations at the facility. Will work towards continuously improving the environment and quality of services.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily audits.
  • Round on unit leads and residents at least once daily.
  • Perform project work.
  • Support and supervise cook staff.
  • Supervise dietary aid staff.
  • Generate weekly orders for food and supplies.
  • Ensure all elements of meals are produced and delivered appropriately.
  • Supervise meal delivery at the point of service.
  • Cover shifts in the absence of dietary staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and modify schedules to ensure full staffing during regular shifts.
  • Assist with the implementation of ARAMARK programs and controls.
  • Perform food and sanitization log audits.
  • Proactively address client concerns and expectations.
  • Coordinate catering, special projects, and other activities affecting daily Foodservices operations.
  • Ensure equipment is in proper working condition and arrange repairs as needed.
  • Assist with front-line job routines and duties.
  • Cover sick and vacation time as needed.
  • Maintain audit logs and daily menu postings.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective communication with residents and co-workers.
  • Physical ability for constant walking and project work.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to schedule and environment changes.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide a clean Criminal Record Check.
Preferred:
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Foodservices/Hospitality within a medium or large healthcare organization.
  • Degree in hospitality/nutrition management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Advanced FST, WHMIS, OH&S, and Infection Control.
Working Conditions

Work in a Senior Living environment with residents who may have physical and mental challenges. The operation runs 24/7, 365 days a year, with no work-from-home options. Employees should have reliable transportation options.

Other

This is a full-time permanent position with weekend work at least every second weekend. Evening availability is required.

Education

Associates degree preferred.
