As a Mergers & Acquisitions (“M&A”) Analyst/Associate, you’ll help facilitate making informed business decisions based on accurate information. You will be a key part of our talented and experienced team, working on high-profile transactions.

EY’s M&A Practice is industry-leading, offering expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financing, and valuations. We advise clients on strategic transactions and capital sourcing activities, working with sophisticated clients worldwide using advanced tools and methodologies. Our practice is growing, with resources to serve any client, anywhere.

Your key responsibilities:

As an Analyst/Associate, you will participate in executing the M&A process from deal sourcing to closure. The role is challenging and fast-paced, requiring dedication and a strong work ethic. Your responsibilities include:

Analyst:

  • Conduct market research and analysis, focusing on business drivers, market conditions, competition, and industry risks and opportunities.
  • Synthesize research for use in modeling, competitive and industry analysis, negotiation support, and other applications.
  • Prepare valuation analyses using techniques like discounted cash flow, comparable market multiples, and precedent transactions.
  • Assist in due diligence processes.
  • Create marketing materials and investment memoranda.
  • Provide strategic advice across various industries and transactions.

Associate:

  • Manage daily activities related to acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, or financing assignments.
  • Develop and review financial models within established guidelines.
  • Synthesize research such as comparable companies and precedent transactions for modeling and analysis.
  • Draft pitches, marketing materials, management presentations, and client presentations.
  • Oversee electronic data rooms and manage due diligence processes, working closely with clients and targets.
  • Collaborate on small teams, often with minimal leverage.
  • Support senior leadership in identifying new business opportunities.
  • Prepare valuation reports for tax and financial reporting, including purchase price allocations.
  • Perform financial due diligence and report writing.
  • Handle administrative activities like compliance documentation, engagement agreements, and billing.
  • Coordinate with other service lines such as Transaction Support, Valuations, and Restructuring, as well as with Audit and Tax teams.

Qualifications:

  • Analyst: 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate: 4+ years of experience in related fields like investment banking, M&A, or corporate finance.
