Job summary

Neegan Technical Services is seeking an Extraction Lab Sampler to collect and transport oil, tailings, water, and process samples from extraction units. You will maintain sample integrity, complete logs, and follow HSE policies while coordinating with laboratory and field teams.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work shifts, and independence with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Class 4 Power engineering or process engineering diploma is an asset.
  • Experience in oil and gas field sampling or laboratory operations is an asset.
  • CSTS & OSSA or BSO or CSO certificates.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Collect oil, tailings, water, and process samples from extraction units.
  • Label, preserve, and transport samples to the laboratory while maintaining sample integrity.
  • Perform routine field inspections and verify sampling equipment is clean and operational.
  • Complete sampling logs, chain-of-custody forms and other required documentation accurately.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with laboratory personnel and field operations to ensure timely sample collection.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards at sampling locations and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions.
  • FLRAs to be completed and signed by each team member every day; report hazards and near misses to the supervisor.

This position requires employees to:

  • Have SAFETY as a first priority and, through his/her actions, demonstrate the importance of the following, but not limited to, all SafeWork Practices and Safe Work Procedures
  • Always wear proper PPE for the task
  • Drive regularly throughout theplant site, including congested operating areas, while following all sitetraffic rules and safety requirements
  • Collect oil,tailings, water, and process samples from extraction units according toestablished procedures from variouscollection sample points within the extraction unit
  • Label, preserve,and transport samples to the laboratory while maintaining sample integrity
  • Perform routine fieldinspections and verify sampling equipment is clean and operational.
  • Complete sampling logs,chain-of-custody forms, and other required documentation accurately.
  • Follow all companyhealth, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
