Job summary

Central Ontario FS is offering an Exploring Agriculture Internship to gain hands-on experience in agribusiness. You will participate in logistics, inventory management, and client interactions while developing essential customer service and operational skills.

You will work across multiple business areas, supporting order processing, delivery, and documentation, and you will present a final summary of your growth and goals to conclude the internship.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a related college or university program and returning to school in the Fall.
• Must have a valid G driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Must possess a valid passport and any required visas to travel to the United States and be able to travel independently.
• Mandatory attendance at Exploring Agriculture Conference in Bloomington, IL, May 17-18, 2027 (plus possibly travel days).

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of the business, building foundational skills for a future career in agribusiness.
• Learn how products move through the supply chain, from order processing to delivery, while supporting documentation, invoicing, and inventory reconciliation.
• Develop strong customer service and communication skills by working with customers and team members to answer questions, process orders, and ensure accurate information flow.
• Build proficiency in office systems and administrative functions, including Microsoft Office, data entry, record management, reporting, and file maintenance.
• Expand knowledge of fertilizers, crop protection products, seed products, and grain operations through exposure to daily business activities.
• Gain experience with ordering, receiving, inventory control, and product quality processes, including blending and inventory management activities.
• Participate in Exploring Agriculture Internship Program activities and networking opportunities, including weekly reports.
• Professional Development: Prepare and deliver a final presentation summarizing your experience, growth, and career goals.
