Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation in Laval, QC, is seeking an Expert in home/household claims to assess eligibility, analyze coverages, and settle losses. The role offers paid training and licensing support, with telework options and a 35-hour work week (8:30–16:30) from Monday to Friday.

You will handle insureds in French and English and gain exposure to a growing claims team. Ideal candidates hold a DEC (or 3 years of full-time experience plus a DES/DEP), have bilingual French/English proficiency,

Responsibilities

• Gather facts from insureds or witnesses and document events
• Analyze applicable coverages and determine claim eligibility
• Assess information, determine responsibilities, and review damage evaluations
• settle claims fairly: validate damages, negotiate when needed, and issue payments
• When needed, open new claim files by phone and ensure prompt handling

Salary range (but not limited to):

59,300 - 72,500

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

About the role

Pour réussir dans ce rôle, une expérience liée à l’habitation ou au bâtiment est importante, par exemple en inspection de bâtiments, en estimation, en restauration après sinistre ou en construction. Un AEC en assurance de dommages constitue également un atout, tout comme la détention d’un permis 5A ou 5B.

Horaire : 8 h 30 à 16 h 30, du lundi au vendredi (35 h/semaine)

Ce que vous accomplirez

• Recueillir la version des faits auprès des assurés ou des témoins et documenter les événements.


• Analyser les garanties applicables et déterminer si le sinistre est couvert.


• Évaluer l’information recueillie, établir les décisions nécessaires (responsabilité, analyse du dossier) et examiner l’évaluation des dommages.


• Régler les sinistres de façon juste et équitable : valider les dommages, négocier au besoin et procéder aux paiements.


• Au besoin, ouvrir de nouveaux dossiers de réclamation par téléphone et assurer une prise en charge rapide de la situation.

Exigences et profil recherché

• Motivation à évoluer dans le domaine de l’indemnisation.


• Expérience pertinente (ex. bâtiment / estimation / restauration après sinistre / construction; connaissance en mécanique du bâtiment, un atout).


• Excellentes habiletés de communication, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.


• Sens de l’analyse, jugement et rigueur dans le traitement des dossiers.


• Solides compétences en gestion du temps et capacité à gérer plusieurs priorités.


• À l’aise avec les outils et systèmes informatiques.


• Bilinguisme français/anglais requis : Nécessite de répondre aux appels et de fournir une prestation de services à une clientèle anglophone sur une base régulière.

Conditions pour l’obtention du permis (pendant l’emploi)

• Diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC)OU


• 3 ans d’expérience à temps plein transférable, ET un diplôme d’études secondaires (DES/DEP – au moins 60 unités) ou équivalent (CEES / attestation d’équivalence).

• Formation rémunérée, à temps plein, vous permettant de découvrir concrètement le domaine de l’assurance et la culture d’Intact.


• Encadrement et soutien pendant la préparation aux examens menant à l’obtention du permis d’expert en sinistre.
