Papa's Pub in Port Hawkesbury is seeking an experienced line cook to join our kitchen team. This full-time, non-seasonal role requires a minimum of 30 hours per week, with compensation starting at $16.75 per hour.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of line cook or prep cook experience, strong teamwork, and a commitment to cleanliness and food safety. Training on our Canadian-inspired menu will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of restaurant or line cook experience.
• Culinary Arts certificate an asset but not required.
• Experience with various cooking methods and procedures.
• Familiarity with restaurant industry best practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock food items and supplies.
• Prepare items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and sauces.
• Cook by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other methods to recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation per requirements.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces at shift end.
• Perform inventory checks and log storage.

We are looking for an experienced, professional and reliable Line Cook to perform duties outlined below. This is a full-time position, not less than minimum of 30 hours per week, job is non-seasonal, with salary starting from $16.75 per hour. The candidate MUST have 1 or more years of related work experience (e.g. line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook), commensurate with the job posting requirements and qualifications.

Line Cook Job Responsibilities

• Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
• Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

• One to two years of restaurant experience and/or a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
• Certificate in Culinary Arts is an asset, but not required.
