WSP Victoria, BC is seeking an Experienced Environmental Scientist to lead contaminated sites investigations, remediation and environmental assessments from planning through closure, working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

This role is ideal for an environmental professional who enjoys balancing hands‑on field leadership, technical report writing, and proposal development, while working closely with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
Lead and support contaminated sites investigations, environmental assessments, and remediation projects from planning through closure.
Interpret environmental data and develop practical, science‑based recommendations for clients and regulators.
Lead, coordinate, and execute field programs including soil, groundwater, sediment, vapour, and surface water investigations while providing direction and guidance to junior staff and subcontractors.
Prepare high‑quality proposals, technical reports, work plans, and regulatory submissions.
Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and environmental professionals on multidisciplinary projects.
Build trusted client relationships through responsive project delivery and technical excellence.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous learning.
Advance environmental protection objectives while helping clients achieve project and regulatory goals.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, Biology, or a related discipline.
Five years of experience or more executing contaminated sites investigations, remediation, and environmental assessment projects.
Strong understanding of provincial and federal environmental regulations and contaminated sites frameworks. Previous federal work experience is considered an asset.
Experience with soil, groundwater, surface water ,vapour, and sediment sampling methodologies and environmental investigation programs.
Proven technical writing skills with the ability to prepare clear and defensible reports, proposals and regulatory documentation.
Demonstrated experience developing proposals, including scopes of work and budgets, for environmental consulting projects is considered a strong asset.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, budgets, schedules, and stakeholder expectations.
Professional designation or eligibility for registration with an applicable professional association is considered an asset.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork assignments while adhering to safety requirements.
