Job summary

Western Canada Regional Council is seeking experienced tradespeople for full-time, on-site carpentry work in Victoria, BC. You will perform layout, framing, formwork and finishing, reading blueprints, and collaborating with site teams to meet schedules and quality standards.

Candidate should have a proven carpentry background and safety training; Red Seal or apprenticeship credentials are assets. You will mentor apprentices and uphold union values on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry with layout, framing, formwork and finishing.
• Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
• Valid safety training (WHMIS, fall protection, first aid) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled construction and carpentry work on a variety of projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints; operate tools safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with site supervisors, forepersons, and other trades to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Uphold safety protocols, keep a clean, organized work area, and follow union and employer policies.
• Mentor apprentices and contribute to continuous improvement of work practices.
