Great Northern Insulation Inc. in Ottawa is seeking an experienced batt and poly insulation installer to join our field team and support residential and commercial projects.

You will read work orders and blueprints, install batt insulation in various building assemblies, and ensure compliance with codes and quality standards while maintaining safety and professionalism on site.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and insulation standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle insulation materials and equipment safely.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces, and at heights.
  • Possess and maintain all required safety certifications and documentation.
  • Must supply and maintain personal hand tools and equipment required for the position.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with access to a personal vehicle for travel to and from job sites.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of batt insulation in walls, ceilings, floors, attics, crawl spaces, and other building assemblies to reduce heat, cold, sound, and fire transfer.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, building plans, and project specifications to ensure quality installations.
  • Ensure all insulation installations meet applicable building codes, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Production Supervisors, Branch Management, Sales Teams, General Contractors, and other trades on site.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve installation challenges or site-related issues promptly.
  • Prepare job sites by protecting finished surfaces and ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Perform post-installation site clean-up and ensure work areas are neat and debris-free.
  • Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, aerial work platforms, and equipment at heights.
  • Complete required documentation, including Field Service Lightning entries, job notes, photos, and digital records.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience through professional communication and workmanship.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure installations are accurate and efficient.
  • Maintain company and customer property in a safe and respectful manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programs.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure installations are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain company and customer property in a safe and respectful manner.
