Job summary

Fortinet, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Canada accounting function. Reporting to the Controller, you will assist the Accounting Manager and GL Team with daily accounting activities, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting.

The role involves handling journal entries, cash accounting, and audits. You will work with Oracle ERP, coordinate with procurement, and participate in month-end processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting and administrative experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and collaborate with others.
• University degree preferred; ERP experience seen as an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records and general ledger accounts in Oracle ERP with proper documentation.
• Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, and month-end adjustments.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and amortization entries.
• Review open purchase orders and project expenditures for accurate period recording.
• Manage cash and AMEX card accounting, coding expenses and related journal entries.
• Prepare accounting schedules and supporting reports for periodic financials.
• Assist with GST/PST tax records and audits as needed.
• Support vendor setups, procurement PO generation, and OPEX funding preparations.
• Ad-hoc accounting, purchasing, administrative, and project tasks as assigned.
